Detailed Day by Day Itinerary


Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe.

Upon arrival at Entebbe International airport, you will be met by our representative who will transfer to your accommodation in Entebbe.

Overnight: Hotel No.5 or Karibu Guesthouse

Day 2: Murchison Falls Via Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.

Depart Kampala for Murchison Falls National Park arriving in the afternoon. The drive will take 5-6 hours, taking a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino trekking. This sanctuary was started in 2005 as a project by the Uganda Wildlife Authority and the Rhino Fund project as an initiative to build a sustainable rhinoceros population and relocate rhinos back to their original habitat in Uganda’s protected areas. Lunch at the sanctuary and drive through Masindi town to Budongo Forest .We will visit the top of the Murchison falls where you will get to see how the mighty Nile River is forced through a narrow gap in the rock before plunging 140 feet down. From here we will drive to your lodge to check in for dinner.

Day 3: Game Drive, Boat Cruise

An early breakfast and later set off for your morning game drive. The game tracks cover open savannah grasslands, woodland, acacia trees, and riverine vegetation. Most of the wildlife in the park is found in this area north of the Victoria Nile River and east of Lake Albert. The park is home to 76 species of mammals including four of the “Big Five,” with herds of buffaloes and elephants. There is a healthy population of lions along with well-camouflaged leopards. Wildlife often seen include giraffe, Ugandan kob, oribi, waterbuck, hartebeest, topi, sitatunga, bushbuck, warthog, bush pig, lion, leopard, mongoose, genet, hyena, jackal, and bat eared fox. Murchison has the best hippo viewing in Uganda, with lots of crocodiles, as well. The park’s varied habitats including savanna, papyrus swamp, woodland and tropical forest are also home to 450 bird species. Later take on a three-hour boat trip along the Nile gives you the chance to see Murchison Falls from below. Hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, and aquatic birds can be seen along the shores of the river.

Day 4: Murchison to Kibale Forest

Transfer to Kibale National Park, the home of chimpanzees. Kibale forest is home to a large number of chimpanzees and other primates including L’hoestes, Red-colobus, Red-tailed, grey cheeked mangabeys, birds, and butterflies. We will drive along Lake Albert Escarpment to Hoima town. The route takes us through villages and farm lands of Hoima, Kibale and Tea estates in Kyenjojo. Check in at your hotel and prepare for dinner.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking, Queen Elizabeth NP

Transfer to the park’s headquarters for a briefing by experienced guides before your chimpanzee trek. Be prepared for muddy terrain and possibly a loud reception from these rowdy primates. Chimpanzees are very mobile and viewing them is unpredictable but the forest walk is an enriching activity that takes about 4 hours. In the afternoon transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain ranges most of our journey. Enjoy pre-dinner drinks on the veranda of your lodge overlooking the savannah plains with the magnificent Rwenzori Mountains in the distance.

Day 6: Game Drive, Boat Cruise

An early morning game drive provides an excellent platform to see Queen Elizabeth’s large variety and volume of wildlife. What you see depends on the season, but the Kasenyi plains are excellent for sighting lion and large herds of Uganda kob., elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mangoose, waterbucks, kobs and, if you are lucky, the leopards and a great number of bird species. Later return to the lodge for lunch after which you will be transferred to enjoy a unique 2- hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This launch cruise gives you a great opportunity for photography, bird watching and game viewing at close range. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth national park – Bwindi impenetrable national park.

Your Uganda adventure safari continues to the primeval Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. The long journey through the rapidly changing landscape will take us to the Ishasha sector of the park where you will make a stop for a short game drive in search for tree-climbing. After the game drive we will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest arriving late afternoon.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking.

Transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing before your gorilla trek. Gorilla Trekking can range from 2 to 7 hours as you move into the gorilla’s home range, you will trek through the steep, and densely forested hills. Coming up close to endangered Mountain Gorillas is a thrilling experience and the  reward of sighting the mountain  gorilla is immeasurable .After the trek you will return to the lodge to relax on your verandah overlooking the forest. Depending on how long the gorilla tracking lasts, you could take a walk through the local village and learn about community projects in Bwindi. You will discover the traditions of the Batwa Pygmies, and learn about the native tribal inhabitants of the forest. Explore the craft markets and get to learn about the conservation initiatives in the community.

Day 9:  Lake Mburo national park.

Check out of the lodge and start your drive to Lake Mburo national park. The park’s well developed Acacia woodland harbors a number of wildlife species and it is the best place in the country to see the gigantic eland antelope, as well as topi, buffaloes, impalas and over three hundred (300) bird species. On arrival you will head straight for a game drive where you will spot herds of zebra, Cape buffalo and antelopes including oribi, topi and Africa’s largest, the eland. After the game drive you will check at the lodge and relax.

Day 1O: Lake Mburo – Entebbe / Airport transfer.

Early morning head for a boat cruise on the lake. Alternatively you can choose to either go for a horseback ride or a walking safari in the park. After these activities you will depart the lodge and drive back to Entebbe. Depending on your flight departure time, you could have dinner in Entebbe before your guide drops you off at the airport in time for your check in.
